G.O. Ministries was established after Brook Brotzman, Founder, traveled to the Dominican Republic and Haiti and witnessed the extreme poverty and spiritual oppression there. On his visit he met several passionate and dedicated pastors who longed to share the love and hope of Christ with others in their communities, however, they lacked the resources to do so.

After working cooperatively with several missionaries and organizations, the leadership of G.O. Ministries came to the simple conclusion that the best way to do ministry was to send groups to support the work of Nationals and to develop Partnerships of Ministry to provide much needed encouragement and support.

Though functioning long before incorporation, G.O. Ministries officially incorporated in 1996 in Illinois and in April of 1999 relocated its headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky.

In 2006, G.O. Ministries expanded into Mongolia, Colombia, Beliz, and beyond.
