Bio:
Cutting sugar cane is an agonizing life. Who better to reach out to those who cut sugar cane and their families than someone who has lived it? Francisco Feliz is that man in Batey Chuchillo. Francisco was a disciple of William Decenes in Batey 9. Batey Chuchillo is only a short distance away from Batey 9, but no one was reaching out to that community. After years of study, Francisco and his family set out in 2004 to establish a church in Batey Cuchillo. Although Batey Cuchillo is one of the smallest in the country, it was three established witch doctors. It is into this darkness that Francisco is shining the light of Christ. Following his favorite Bible verse, John 3:16, he is showing God’s love through the establishment of a sports ministry and nutrition center.
Francisco, with his wife Yolanda live and work in Batey Chuchillo with those they serve. Their three children, Yonaeri, 11, Denora, 8 and Frances, 4 all go to school with the local children. With the partnership of G.O. Ministries, they have been able to establish a nutrition center and baseball league to give kids opportunities other than the cane fields. They are currently excited about the new church that is being constructed in order to provide more outreach to this needy community.
