Bio:
Icene has been following Christ since the age of thirteen. At thirteen, he meet American missionaries who came to his home and invited him to study the Bible and learn about God’s word. Unfortunately, some other local residents cheated these missionaries and they left the community. But God did not. A few years later, another American missionary came to his school when Etienne was seventeen. He studied the Bible and received theological training for the next four years.
When his studies were complete, Etienne began going out onto the streets of Cape Carvajal, sharing the truth about Christ with anyone who would listen. After several people had accepted Christ as their Savior, they began meeting as a church. For the past four year, Etienne has continued to share the Gospel and the church now has around 50 people who attend of a regular basis.
Etienne’s vision for the future is for the church to be full of people. He also wants to begin a feeding program. In the community, there are more than 5000 children who are living in poverty and malnutrition. His dream to share the love of Christ with “the least of these” (Matt. 25:40) by meeting their most basic needs—a warm meal, a loving hand to serve it, and a kind word softly spoken. These three simple things will allow them to see, feel, and hear the love of God poured out into their lives.
