Plan Your Trip
Develop a Team
We encourage people who are interested in going on a short-term mission trip to form a team either from your church, organization, school, or family and friends. We challenge our teams to have a minimum of 20 people, however, 10 people is the minimum team size. We can facilitate up to 60 people at a time.
Choose a Team Leader
Team Leaders serve as the main contact person for G.O. Ministries for your team. The Team Leader helps recruit the team, makes all arrangements with G.O. Ministries and the travel agency, encourages the team in their fundraising efforts, sends all monies in by the deadlines, is often the spiritual leader or appoints a team member or members to lead devotionals, and oversees the team on its trip.
Team Leaders can contact our office to secure a trip date and to receive a Team Leader’s Packet that includes a Team Leader’s Guide that will walk you through the entire process of planning a successful trip, applications for your team, team building and cross-cultural activities to better prepare your team, and a video to assist in your team recruiting efforts.
You can download a copy of the Team Leader’s Guide here
Choose a Date
G.O. Ministries sends teams to the Dominican Republic and Haiti from the second week of January to the third week of November. (There are occasional exceptions to these time frames.) Trips are 8-days long and start and end on a Tuesday. G.O. Ministries will officially reserve the week you would like to plan your trip only when we have received a signed covenant from the Team Leader’s Guide and a $1,000 non-refundable deposit from your team.
Choose a Focus of your Trip
G.O. Ministries offers the unique opportunity to mold your trip around the gifts and desires of your team to accomplish your goals and our ministry goals. Please refer to the types of trips as to the focus your team can have.
