Mobile Connectivity Configuration Update

The updates to the mobile connectivity parameters are complete. If your mobile device and/or Outlook connection is non-functional, please Skype or email David Bock. A quick configuration change should restore connectivity. Also, you should not receive AutoDiscover warnings, as that service has been reconfigured and is compliant.
Server Backup & Availability

As part of the update and configuration process, the server will be unavailable on or after 9:00 pm EST today. You will have no access to mail. Expect no mail connectivity as the server will be performing an offline backup. Once the backup has concluded, service will be restored. This process is not expected to exceed three to four (3-4) hours.
Server Configuration and Connectivity Issues

There have been reports of intermittent connectivity issues with mobile devices (both droid and iPhone) since just before Christmas. Additionally, some users have reported connectivity with the Outlook application in the field. Over the next week or so, the post-migration tasks are being finalized. Much of the connectivity issues are related to system reconfiguration and updated security protocol. As a result, the information stored in the mobile devices/remote connections may change - resulting in loss of connectivity.

Users are experiencing communication delay or failure on their mobile devices and/or Outlook Anywhere
Next Steps
- Please report connection issues to David Bock. Please be specific with the time, device, etc. More information will help to better pinpoint the root cause of any issue.
- While you are experiencing loss of connection, you can access your mail using the Outlook Web Access portal. This portal is resident on the server and is not subject to connection related issues. You can continue to operate normally while using this portal. You will have access to all mail, calendar and contact items.

Brief outages are possible while the server configurations are optimized. These outages are expected to last under five minutes at a time. Once the server has been completely optimized, a message will be posted.

The mail migration process has concluded. Additional server updates will continue until the weekend. Some brief outages may occur during configuration changes.

The email accounts are currently migrating to the new platform. The process of migration is estimated to continue overnight. As the individual mailbox accounts complete the migration, they will be available and online for access.

Access to Outlook Web Access is not currently available. This is expected to take a better part of the day. ActiveSync and Outlook Anywhere is likely to be effected as well.
